The week started with Ladder 1 being dispatched at 11:10 to stand by at Upper Saddle River Fire HQ while that Department was on scene of an electrical fire at a commercial structure on Route 17. Ladder 1 returned to service within an hour. At 12:22 an AFA was received from a home on Highwood Avenue. The alarm turned out to be a malfunction.
Tuesday the 26th was a busy day that started very early. At 04:08 the FD was dispatched to Hopper Avenue for electrical wires burning on a utility pole. At 09:19 an AFA was received from a commercial occupancy on Wyckoff Avenue. The alarm turned out to be a malfunction. At 15:32 Rescue 1 and Engine 2 responded to a vehicle striking a store front on Franklin Turnpike (see story below).
